When it comes to selecting an outfit, you can find inspiration anywhere….
…and sometimes that inspiration arrives while watching television on a lazy, rainy Sunday afternoon! “Troop Beverly Hills” has always been a favorite flick of mine…from the age of 15 to the age of 35! Even at a younger age, I could appreciate Shelley Long’s style: the bright colors, the hats, the designer bags….it was all so over the top…and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT.
But when using her character’s style as inspiration, I never thought that it would be her Troop Beverly Hills uniform as the look I am dying to recreate! When I scooped up this dress, the combination of khaki and green never came to mind….I actually looked at this dress more as an update on a trench coat and thought about pairing it with black (come fall & winter I am going to layer it over a turtleneck, ya feel me?!)…but it’s funny how what we watch on tv, what we see in magazines or instagram, or even what we see walking down the street can impact our style!
So, Phyllis Nefler, this look’s for you!
